MIT Club Track Events
Presented for your viewing enjoyment: a few pages with pictures of Todd Serota's infamous MIT Club road track events! For those not familiar with the event, every six months or so former Rx-7net member extraordinaire Todd Serota hosts a really swell high-performance driving workshop here in Southern California. Typically held on a Monday, the locale alternates between Willow Springs International Raceway in scenic Rosamond (just past picturesque Lancaster) in the spring, and the CalClub's Buttonwillow in the fall. Planning is already underway for the next event!
For the always agreeable donation of approximately $225 (US funds only, please), participants enjoy a full day of high-performance driving instruction on a full-blown race track. Participants, coached by several experienced drivers (often from the Porsche Owners Club), use their own vehicles. Basically, anything goes (as long as it's got four wheels and is safe and mechanically sound). The only mandatory safety equipment is a helmet. The snack bar is well-stocked, and an ambulance is always present (whattaya' expect, Todd's a lawyer!). For more information, contact Todd Serota himself by email (tserota@tracquest.net).
The following pictures were taken at Willow Springs.
