Dashboard Removal

I've done it without removing the instrument cluster. I'm assuming that you've already removed the seats, and all of the other bolts. Note: 'Front' = front of car.
- Remove the vent hose that passes under the steering column (1 screw).
- Remove the white defroster hose (1 screw).
- Remove the black vent hose from the top of the vent unit (1 screw).
- Push the wiring harness out of the way as much as possible.
- Get a looooooooong extension and put the correct socket on it (8mm?).
- The front nut should be easy now.
- You'll notice there is an indentation in the dash frame that will allow you to get on the rear most nut. I doubt you can actually SEE the nut, but you can get the socket on it.
- NOTE: Some wires pass over the top of the vent unit that is screwed to the bottom of the dash. You need to remove the vent unit to be able to get the dash out. You can't see these screws either. They are on the bottom front of the vent unit. Use a stubby philips to get on them.
That should do it. Go have about 10 beers...you're only half done.
Another note: I routed the wires under the vent unit for reinstallation. It is damn near impossible to get them on top of the vent unit, between the bottom of the dash (where they belong). The re-routing was easy, but your stereo might not fit when you're done.
